As soon as the tekken online game is available in a flash format we will upload it here.
Tekken came onto the scene shortly after virtua fighter and adopted many of its features. Some regard it as the best ever series of fighting games ever to be released on the Playstation and in the arcade. There are currently 6 versions available including Tekken tag tournament and Tekken dark rebellion.
In Tekken players choose a fighter and square off against each other in a best of 3 rounds fight. Unlike many other fighting games that adopted a one button policy for each move - such as a specific button for a strong kick or strong punch, Tekken adopts a button and then requires the player to also press the directional pad in order for a move to be executed. So for example if I wanted to do a high kick to someones head in the Street Fighter games I will simply press one button and this would would happen. In Tekken I will have to press a button and then diagonal up on my controller to execute the same kick.
This can then lead to the player being able to figure out certain special combos and moves by watching the fighting move take place and to study how the fighter executes the move through the animation. For example he may do a downward kick followed by an uppercut and throw. By studying the body movements of the fighter the player can intuitively figure out what buttons and directional pad combos to press.
Usually some time after a game has been published on an old console someone attempts to port one to the PC. As of yet this has not been the case for a tekken online game version.
Tekken has an interesting storyline, one of bloody revenge between father and son. Heihachi Mishima is a ruthless boss of a multinational corporation and an expert martial artist. He calls a billion dollar prize tournament of martial arts and 8 fighters win the right to enter the tournament. One of the entries is his son Kazuya.
Heihachi threw his son Kazuya off a cliff top when he was five years old as a test of faith to see if Kazuya was his son. If Kazuya managed to claw his way back up to the top of the cliff he would be in no doubt that he was. 21 years on from that day and Kazuya returns with a bloody scar down his chest from the fall and determined to seek revenge on his father. Having made a deal with the devil and sold his soul for evil powers to seek revenge Kazuya is a deeply troubled young man hell bent on revenge and has little interest in winning the tournament's cash prize.
Kazuya is undefeated in hand to hand combat with only a draw to dent his perfect fight count. That draw was to Paul Phoenix who is also in the tournament and is seeking to defeat Heihachi Mishima. However fate dictates that Kazuya fights his way through to the final to confront and kill his father in a fight that goes on for hours. He drops his father off the edge of the same cliff that he nearly perished on 21 years ago.
