I take a further look at the new guns available in Endless Zombie Rampage 2. With the first game offering a vast supply of weaponry way beyond the average shooting game, the 2nd game would have a hard time improving on an already very successful selection.
Deciding to streamline the guns in the second game seemed like the wise choice by Diseased productions. This has allowed them to channel more effort into creating six new weapons that provide outstanding visual effects and enough new variety to appease all followers of this zombie flash games series.
The sniper rifle is likely to be your first port of call from the new weapon range in Endless Zombie Rampage 2. It costs a reasonable 1000 experience points and features a super accurate aim and powerful shot that will take down all enemies you are likely to face within the forth coming rounds after purchase.
At first I thought Diseased may have included some sort of zoom in function to go with it, but having thought about it, this would have been difficult considering the game is played from a third person top down view.
The sniper rifles normal capacity is 10 bullets and its reload time is relatively fast.
Its upgrade options are:
Little disappointed with the effects of the grenade launcher, I was looking forward to a massive explosion upon impact. The effect is fairly tame but is half made up for by the fragment effect, where many small clusters fire off as bullets in multiple directions.
Its initial reach is very limited but if you opt to purchase the special upgrade the grenade launcher becomes a new beast, featuring multiple explosions and multiple cluster fire that can wipe out large numbers of undead. If you can cough up the points for its 4 upgrades the grenade launcher is worth acquiring.
Its upgrade options are:
The Endless Zombie Rampage's smart plasma gun that's reminiscent of the weapon that featured in the Doom series. The gaus rifle is a high impact energy gun that cuts through flesh and bone like a hot knife through butter. Delivering a round of plasma that damages all creatures in its path it is an excellent weapon to use when concentrating fire on single or multiple enemies.
Costing 3000 experience points you will be weighing your options up between this gun and the rocket launcher.
The Zombie Rampage's gaus rifle delivers its load at an average rate with a slight pause between each energy beam; this can mean that sometimes its limited path can catch you out when surrounded by enemies in all directions. With no special upgrade available I would recommend purchasing the rocket launcher over this weapon, which does have a special available.
The gaus rifle's upgrade options are:
The rocket launcher is a mighty weapon when backed up by its special upgrade in Endless Zombie Rampage 2. Once you obtain the triple rocket be prepared for a pay load that can wipe out an army of zombies in one shot. Not only does the upgraded rocket launcher fire 3 rockets at once, on impact each rocket blows off into clusters very much like the grenades cluster, producing bullet fire in multiple directions. It provides an excellent solution to chaotic situations that occur later on in the game.
With the rocket launcher costing the same as the gaus rifle, which one would I recommend choosing? Well both have their merits, but I would say that in the later rounds you will find a growing number of monsters baring down on you and the rocket launcher offers so much in the way of area clearance and must be your pick of the two.
Its upgrade options are:
This immense inferno gun hurls a huge continuous band of fire into a creatures face melting them into a pile of sludge and guts. An ideal gun for taking out multiple enemies, its flames are wide spread giving you the ability to repel any group attack.
At 4000 experience points the flame thrower certainly is a pricy number and lacks a unique upgrade option which is a bit disappointing. The flame thrower and the laser cannon are both overrated in my view and although they do have an immense amount of power, I believe the upgraded rocket launcher or auto shotgun hold better value and potentially more effective blasts.
However if you get bored of either of the latter, then feel free to blow your experience points on the flame thrower.
Its upgrade options are:
The mean, mounted beast with an infinite supply of ammo, you already have two guarding your base, deploy a third nearby and stand in between all three, they will provide an excellent perimeter of defense allowing you to take aim and clear up the rest of the zombie scum.
At 2,500 experience points the turret represents value for money! You can only deploy one however, other wise the game would prove ridiculously easy to complete.
Diseased productions have produced an imaginative and very well designed collection of weapons for Zombie Rampage 2 which successful build upon the first Endless Zombie Rampage Gameand you can spend most of the game marveling in their power rather than caring about completing the game. If you want to check them all out before playing a serious game, try the experimental mode.
